My Acer Aspire (previously Windows 7 Home Premium) was a sluggish computer, was too many useless programs I have installed. I wanted to start all over and reinstall Windows 7 using a disc. I did a Windows 7 professional custom installation, and my Acer was like brand new, but the problem is, I cannot connect to the internet using wi-fi or ethernet. I checked Device Manager and I saw under the Other Devices tabs that Ethernet Controller, Network Controller, and PCI Simple Communications Controller have the yellow triangle with an exclamation mark. The status for the devices say The drivers for this device are not installed (Code 28) and everytime I try to install driver the device driver software was not successfully installed. Any ideas to fix this without opening out my laptop? (very risky)

Hi zak970,

Welcome to Seven forums.

I understand drivers are installed on the system and working fine now. However, would like to inform you after windows installation device drivers are required to be installed on the system.

You can either install it from the disk supplied along with your system or through manufacturer website.

And as you seem to have updated it from the C drive it signifies that you have not done a clean installation on the system.

Clean installation is always recommended to ensure effective working on the system. If you need more information regarding clean re-installation then you can check the link below:
