Ethernet cord not detected (Solved)

Hey guys, I just installed Windows 7 on a new computer, and I can't get it to detect my ethernet cord. The light on the card that the cord plugs into lights up, and I could access the internet when running a Knoppix live CD, so I don't think it's a hardware problem.

I'm fairly inexperienced with this stuff, so I don't really know what's going on. Do I need to find drivers for it or something? Thanks!

Hi and welcome to seven forums

You probably need to download and install a driver for your networking card. You could help us if you tel us all abt your computer, your OS, and network setup.

thanks in advance

If your Ethernet controller is a 3com, they provide no drivers and have no plans on doing so either.
