Ethernet port keeps disconnecting please help

I have tried another router port and still the problem is there...

I have used the same port on the router and it works on my laptop but it wont on my pc

when the i get the problem it cuts off for 3-5 secs then its back on and so on....

I have ran cmd ping google.co.uk and when it cuts off/disconnects it says

I218-V on Z97-PRO ASUS
WIndows 7 64bit
"media disconnected" message
Stop-gap measure: deselect > select "energy efficient ethernet" and all OK
no ipconfig or netsh solutions worked as far

Downloading new drivers (in despair...)

Try changing to a High Performance power plan (or a balanced one if already on high performance).

Yeap I've already tried that... No luck
As a matter of fact this is the only way to "revive" my connection on startup: Double change (ON and then OFF or OFF and then ON) the "Energy Efficient Internet" option (Devices > Network adapters > I218-V > Power Management)...

Is it a service issue perhaps? Please check:
- WLAN AutoConfig (automatic - started)
when you login before doing the ON OFF change.
