EULA Question RE Win 7 From Launch Event

I attended the Windows 7 event launch last year and got Windows 7 Ultimate x86. I only have 2 PCs. I recently bought Windows 7 Professional x64 for my desktop. I have Windows 7 Home Premium x64 on my laptop and no longer need Ultimate x86. Right on the cardboard folder it says, "Not For Resale". The way I interpret that is that is not to be mistaken and sold in a shop or something by accident or on purpose. It's a full retail disk and I own it.

So my question is, am I allowed to sell it? I am just looking to help cover the cost of 7 Pro and no longer need it. I looked through the first half dozen pages of this thread and came up empty.

No sure if you can , but may be sure that you cant. Do you see NFR (not for resale) anywhere on the package?

Yes, it's printed in the upper left corner. But as I mentioned in my OP, I think that is for re-sale shops or something. Like when you get a free sample of a granola bar (for example) in the mail, it has the same thing printed on it.

Why downgrade to Pro from Ultimate. If you are using x64 then find a copy of x64 Ultimate (the license works for both x86 and x64) and install that as all you are doing is settling for a lesser product. Sell your Pro copy instead and be ahead of the game.

The not-for-resale definitely means you - you can be sure of it.

I have to disagree, it is meant for the owner. You received it for free and they gave you a NFR copy. You may interpret the meaning any way you like, but the term NFR is quite clear, to me.

I don't have access to a copy of x64 and I was able to get the student discount for Pro x64 for $29.95 so it's no big deal. I thought of that too, since the key works for both...

Apart from anything else, this is in bad taste. Also FYI, MS as well as Win7 party hosts have been policing ebay and reporting such sales. See this page among others.

I never knew this option existed! Now I am glad I only paid the student discount of $29.95 for Windows Professional x64 if I decide to use Ultimate.

It certainly does not mean you can not give it away!

But, if I am not mistaken,, if you read the fine print of Student Discounted Windows Software it states that you must stop using it after you are no longer a student.

I'm just sayin', that's my understanding. I could be wrong.
