Event viewer error: Task scheduler service failed to load tasks

Running Windows 7 pro on an HP z210 computer fully patched. My question is about the following error in the Event viewer: Task scheduler service failed to load tasks at service startup. Additional Data: Error value: 2147549183



The computer shows hundreds of these errors in the event viewer.



I checked the Task Scheduler service and it is running.


How do I troubleshoot this?


I have searched the Seven forum for an answer and did not find any relevant posts

Over time, the Event Viewer gets very full and cluttered and makes troubleshooting extremely hard because it records EVERYTHING!

What are the dates of the ERRORS?

Did you get this issue resolved?

If it is a current on-going problem, then you could remove/delete all the Event Viewer logs. This way, anything that appears in the Event Viewer is current and will be easier to find and troubleshoot.

I have a batch script to do exactly that if you think that this could possibly be a part solution.

Under the heading Event Viewer - Clear ALL Logs . . ., please run Event_Viewer_Clear_ALL_Logs.bat, Option [2] from here => BATCH PROGRAMS [Standalone] and then upload the results using the tutorial at the bottom of the above link [Upload to SevenForums . . .] and someone will look at it for you.

INFORMATION: I have written quite a few batch scripts in order to streamline processes, avoid possible typing errors, and save time hunting around for specific Windows and tabs etc. It is just quicker and easier for users to run the batch script and then upload the results for us to look at.

This error is a pain,

Anyway lets see if we can find whats causing it, have a look at least 3 hopefully the same guid.

in the details pane it should be referencing a GUID, like this
Provider Name="Microsoft-Windows-TaskScheduler" Guid="{DE7B24EA-73C8-4A09-985D-5BDADCFA9017}
Yours will not be the above

Once you have identified it we have to find it in the registry,

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Schedule\TaskCache\Tasks\{DE7B24EA-73C8-4A09-985D-5BDADCFA9017}

click on this key and find the program name

Hope its not a major MS program.

Why would you want to retrieve them?
If you are going to want to do that then don't delete them in the first place!

Did you read what I wrote in the master post . . .

Over time, the Event Viewer gets very full and cluttered and makes troubleshooting extremely hard. If your OS has been running smoothly for a while without any problems then you can clear ALL the logs. This makes using the Event Viewer [if needed] a lot easier and manageable!
