Hi barney and welcome,

Well, the first one has to do with the new IPv6 protocol. It isn't widely used yet or really at all that I know of, maybe by a select few. If you uncheck this box, those errors will stop. I had the same errors occuring every couple of minutes, although I never had them in Vista with it enabled. I don't really know about the other errors.

Circular kernel context logger error

Hi.

The circular kernel context logger takes frequent snapshots of the system into a 100MB RAM file (not on disk). It is needed.

To fix the "fail to start" error, find the following file in the %windir%\panther\ folder:

setup.etl

and rename it to

setup.old

It can stay in the \panther\ folder.

Reboot and all is done!

I get those errors about Ipv6 too .. it's because my ISP (Virgin Media) don't use it yet.

Apparently some other things in Windows 7 need it though .. notably the 'Homegroup' feature!

The Argument against Disabling IPv6

It is unfortunate that some organizations disable IPv6 on their computers running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, where it is installed and enabled by default. Many disable IPv6-based on the assumption that they are not running any applications or services that use it. Others might disable it because of a misperception that having both IPv4 and IPv6 enabled effectively doubles their DNS and Web traffic. This is not true.

From Microsoft's perspective, IPv6 is a mandatory part of the Windows operating system and it is enabled and included in standard Windows service and application testing during the operating system development process. Because Windows was designed specifically with IPv6 present, Microsoft does not perform any testing to determine the effects of disabling IPv6. If IPv6 is disabled on Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, or later versions, some components will not function. Moreover, applications that you might not think are using IPv6—such as Remote Assistance, HomeGroup, DirectAccess, and Windows Mail—could be.

Therefore, Microsoft recommends that you leave IPv6 enabled, even if you do not have an IPv6-enabled network, either native or tunneled. By leaving IPv6 enabled, you do not disable IPv6-only applications and services (for example, HomeGroup in Windows 7 and DirectAccess in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are IPv6-only) and your hosts can take advantage of IPv6-enhanced connectivity.

Hi and welcome

You would probably get more response if you started your own thread, but while you are here. whats the full test from the errors? from event viewer? if so can you get theevent ID and source codes for us? they are in windows logs>applications, or systems

Im sure you know that already but always have to give more info rather than less

Circular kernel context logger error

Hi, these errors did stop, then started again. Seems to be related to logging off then logging on to my admin account.

Error is always the same:

0xC0000035

reg key: ="{B675EC37-BDB6-4648-BC92-F3FDC74D3CA2}"

<Data Name="ErrorCode">3221225525</Data>
<Data Name="LoggingMode">268436608</Data>

There are lots of little errors of other sorts, but the system works fine, so I wonder if they are actually significant. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Regular offender is a failure to get an IPV6 address from the router.

Hey,

Thanks for the heads up, but I didn't want to start another thread since I was just searching through Google (and found this forum) regarding this specific problem. I also think it would truncate the solution if the thread I would have started got the answer.

Circular kernel context logger error

Kyle,

Some errors are related to IPV6 not being able to start or get a response from the router. Generally the errors are of little significance and don't detract from performance. If you are using a Dell, that probably explains a lot...

Richard, Thanks for the help, I have an HP a6600f pavillion desktop. I unchecked the IPv6 box like you said when I checked this morning I already had an error and this will continue I'm sure. So far no more BSOD after updating my poweer supply from 250 watt to 450 watt and installing a 8400 Nivdia graphics card along with all the other suggestions byt they never stopped until I updated the power supply and went with a graphics card and bypassed the chipset. I'm heading to work and will check back later tonight. Any more suggestions are more than welcome. Thank you, God Bless, Kyle
