Hello- All of a sudden I am getting unexplained warnings and errors in Event Viewer.

The warnings are Event ID 6000 and 1530. The errors are Event ID 8193. Please note attachments for Event

details. They appear to have something to do with 'GPClient', the Registry being in use, and

System Restore.

My AV appears to play into it. I uninstalled the avast! AV with the avast! Tool and did a further clean-up

with rejzor's tool as well- all done in safe mode. We then reinstalled avast!

We have searched for solutions to absolutely no avail. Please advise on this matter- any help will be greatly

appreciated.

Regards-

tim

Tim,

I offer this for what it's worth. I'm way over my head in this registry stuff.

I have received the leaking registry errors and found that is definitely related to the use of my external drive. I have no idea why but I think it may have something to do with my AV and it's self protection as several referred to Eset. At first I thought it may have been related to my HomeGroup settings but I removed both systems from the HomeGroup several days ago and just use the network.

I did a backup to my external drive yesterday and received similar errors, 5 of them. I do not get these errors when the drive is not connected.

I get the same errors when using the external drive on my other system.

I'm beginning to believe there may be a problem with the drive, the systems failing to disconnect from it or the AV.

I wish I had more to offer you.

Well, 'scr', I appreciate your input. I think you're right regarding the AV, and the Event 1530 is relatively common in Windows 7. Windows XP offered a User Hive CleanUp to eliminate this. The other errors and warnings were due to services I had disabled, or set to manual vs. automatic start up. Indeed, it's safe to do that as it's a common tweak to speed the machine up.
We checked the Files System, 3 times concurrently with a restart between each runs, to no avail. No issues with CHDSK, either.
We've come to the conclusion that all of this is normal- as every Windows OS version we've ever owned has had its own personality.

Again, Thanks-

tim
