every time i setup windows 7 the windows is dead

hi all
i have laptop dell
with
80 gb
1 g ram
intel core duo 1.73ghz processor
32 bit​

i have setup windows 7 Ultimate
and the laptop ic working good
when i shut down the lap and i open it again i found the windows is dead
and i compelled to setup the windows again and i have the same problem
i setup the windows 3 time in 2 days
and i format it to be sure the laptop is very clean
i dont know what is the problem?
the laptop
or
the edition of windows
but iam sure the windows 7 ultimate is good because i have setup it on my pc and it work very good

What OS did you have on it before Windows 7? Was it working fine with it, or is it a new laptop?

i have xp before windows 7
and i lost me cd dirvers
and i try to download it from dell
but give me alot of drivers and i dont know waht is right 4 me
my laptop is dell inspiron 6400

but i want 2 work with windos 7

When you say:

do you mean shutting down the notebook or simply closing it? When you close a running notebook, the normal setting is for it to go into sleep mode. It ought to wake from sleep when you open it again, but if not, try pressing the power button. (That usually wakes a desktop machine from sleep.)

If that's it, go into the Power control panel, and check the settings of your plan.

As regards drivers, it's a good news/bad news situation. The bad news is that Dell (support.dell.com) doesn't list Win7 drivers for the Inspiron 6400. (That doesn't mean that it's incompatible. Dell traditionally only supports configurations that they sell.) The good news is that the hardware looks pretty commonplace, so I doubt you'll have any real trouble getting drivers. If you're lucky, the Windows installation itself plus Windows Update may cover all that you need. (It'd be nice if you have access to another PC, just in case your network interface doesn't get working drivers from the initial Windows installation.) I'm not sure whether the drivers that Intel recently released for your 945G graphics are available yet through Windows Update, bu they're out there. (Those drivers are not needed to complete the basic Win7 install.)

Chipset drivers should be fine, but you need more memory to run 7 smoothly. I'd start with upgrading the chipset and BIOS and inspecting the BIOS for any advanced power options.
