Everything have viruses today

Hi guys.

I just wanted to share a little story with you guys.

My mom's friend purchased a RCA Lyra Pearl MP3 player. He wanted me to put music on it. Simple enough. Two days ago, I was checking the MP3 Player itself and didn't find any sign of what size that MP3 Player was so I plugged it on my Win7 PC.

Upon inserting, my anti-virus NOD32 v4 detected a trojan (that runs on autorun)!! The MP3 player was NEW! It was gaming related according to the name given by NOD32. After that, I formated the drive to avoid further infection.

I mean, wow, really, they are really desperate for money now to put viruses on MP3 Players... I know that it's not the first time this happen. I remember reading about that in the past.

I received a new pc at work with a hard drive with a virus. They had the virus at the manufacturer and were cloning the drives. When I called, they already knew the problem existed.

Oh yeah... I decided to check NOD32's Quarantine and googled for the virus :

OF COURSE, a keylogger.

I hope all members read this to remind them that infections come from every where not just the internet. That is why I keep preaching Multilayer protection is a must. Hardware and software security. Lebon 14 checked and caught it, there for removed it. I think many wouldn't ever check for it.
