Hello all,

I recently got a virus which has literally robbing of access to almost every essential software on my pc.

Access to the following are disabled:

Command prompt, Task Manager, RegEdit, and many others I can't remember right now. I updated my anti-virus which has then obliterated the virus, but all these stuff remain not accessible. I did a little research on the net and found some solutions posted for Window Vista. Unfortunately these solutions don't work for me. So please if any can help me get proper access to these stuff again. I know it has to do with the registry, but I have no access to that either.

I have win 7.

thanks

Have you tried the System Restore, picking a day that you know is PRIOR to the virus infection? (You may have to boot into Safe Mode for this.)

Do you have any system backups?

Use system restore.
There is no means updating anti-virus on this time because virus already take place your pc.
So the thing you can do now, restore your system to the earlier time and try repair from that time where virus still can't attack you system.
If that also can't, you only have choice to format you HDD.

Can you do the following?
Please download and run this tool.
Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here
Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will openin Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab inMBAM.

Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Post the contents of the MBAM Log.

Thanks for all the replies. The virus seem to also wiped out my restore points. When I check everything is empty unlike before. So I can't restore to an earlier time. I will download Ezio suggested and report back if my problems have been solved.

Thanks again for all replies.

It worked. Anti-Malware gave me back access to regedit and Start Task Manager. From there I used Regedit to gain access back to the command prompt. So thanks a lot Ezio and everyone who replied.

Now that's over with, I have another problem, how to stop window 7's nagging "Activate windows now"

It comes up the screen about every 30 minutes or so and when I tried to "activate" once, it tells me my copy of windows isn't genuine. But I paid $39 (student discount via a third party vendor) for it last year. I don't understand all this genuine crap but all I know is I paid for this software, it's not a hacked version from some news group. So please any help on how to turn or stop the message from interrupting me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
