I'm having difficulty deciding between these two cards, and am upgrading from an EVGA Geforce GTX 650TI Boost Superclocked 2GB. Please help me in deciding which of the three cards is the best, the prices and links are listed below:

EVGA GeForce GTX 660 FTW ACX Cooler 2GB - $159.99

ASUS Radeon HD 7870 1.0GHZ 2GB
- $154.99

I would appreciate any quick responses, as these sales are bound to end very soon!

The ACX cooling blows the heat right into your case, I had the 760 4 GB w ACX cooling. But it was still a good card.

You should go with a 700 series card, bought directly from EVGA.

EVGA | Products | Graphics - GeForce 700 Series Family

That price for the 660 is after a mail in rebate, something I never even consider when buying pc parts. You have to look at the total price you`ll be charged, shipping and tax included.

I`m thinking the 7870 would be the better of the 2 cards you have listed. AMD owners would have to chime in.

stock HD 7870 GHz is faster than a stock GTX 660.

Go for the 7870, it is a really good card for only $155. It beats the GTX 660, overclocks better and it has got a better cooling system.

I'm a Nvidia fan and I personally hate AMD cards, but there's no doubt here. I'll get an HD 7870 over a GTX 660 simply because it costs less and it is more powerful.

I decided to go with the 7870 based on the replies. It's a good thing I had it in my cart, since the price jumped $25 the day afterwards. Thanks for the suggestions, they were very helpful with my decision. Now I have to deal with a mail-in-rebate though.

Thanks for the suggestion, but the GTX 760 is more expensive, and a little out of my budget right now. It's a shame though, because I really like EVGA's products. Based on your opinion, I went with the 7870 (although it also comes with an MIR). I really appreciate the insight, thanks for your help. I'd give you some rep, but it seems I already added to your rep recently, and can't give anymore until I spread some around.
