Solved Excel 2007 Addon

I have a user who can not access her excel 2007 addon. This add on allows us to easily transfer data from our old mainframe to excel. This addon should alway show, but is not. I can see this addon in the list of installed, but inactive, addons, but can not activate it in any way. What do I need to get this addon visible/running again?

Sorry for being so vague, the addon in question is the client access data transfer addon.

Hi,

Try turning off UAC temporarily, activating the Add-On, and then turn UAC back on again. I had a similar problem a while ago with a custom Add-On, and the steps outlined help me activate it.

Don't forget to turn UAC back on again when the Add-On is active.

We run with UAC off because of all the crappy legacy software that be have to run, otherwise there is UAC every 30 seconds, almost literally.

I managed to get the addon working again, I ended up having to uninstall the addon, clean the registry with ccleaner, and then it would properly register the dll's, for some reason it wouldn't write to the registry if there were already the keys that I was about to create. I told you this software is crap. Just glad that I got it working though.
