I have office 2010 which i installed about 6 months ago. I've not used excel since then. I've just started using it and it has some serious issues. It is incredibly slow to do some tasks at which time windows states that the program is not responding. This happens when ever I select a printing option (set print area, copy as image as printed, set headings to print) after that everything is painfully slow to the point where I can't use the program.

Does anyone know how to fix this? If not, how easy is it to down grade back to 2007 (assuming i can find my copy!)

Thanks :D

Hi,

Can you provide your system specifications? Also, what type of printer are you using? Is the driver up-to-date?

I have never had this issue in Office2010....I doubt you need to downgrade. Do you also have this problem in Word2010?

Regards,
Golden

(Its a macbook pro with windows installed using boot camp)

I've never connected this computer to printer i'm using the print functions to paste column headings into a word document which i'll print from a different computer. So I don't think i have any printing drivers apart from those that came with the windows install (perhaps this is the problem?)

Boot camp...ouch, I have no experience with that, Hang tight and someone that has might be able to offer you better help....

Can you use traditional copy & paste functionality to do this? I'm guessing here, but I think that the hang you are seeing is that the print option invokes a serach for a physically attached printer and since there isn't one, it gets confused.........

Golden

Thanks Golden!

Well I went and looked at my devices and printers and low and behold I had the printer on the work network which i'm not connected to as the primary (i did not realise i had any there). I switched the primary to a PDF writer deleted the work printer for good measure and problem fixed.

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction :-)

No worries. I was thinking that the "delay" is typical of something not being found on a network, but didn't consider to ask you - glad its sorted :)
