Excel goes cpu to 100%

Hi. CPU goes to 100% for 2-3 seconds when updating (writting or deleting) a cell. It happens continuously so it make impossible to use excel.... Any suggestion? Excel is part of Office 2016. Thanks

Did not understand why it makes impossible to use Excel. CPU utilization is used on demand. As long it doesn't stay at 100% all the time I can't see why it can't be used.

One reason for high resource usage with Excel, (and other spreadsheet), is when the sheet in use gets too large for the device in use - changing a single cell can mean that all the cells are refreshed rather than just the one that is changed. The same happens before a save so that the saved data is fully up to date.

If this is the case here then the only way I know of reducing the delays is to split the spreadsheet into different sheets - if this is not possible I could be a need for more computing power

If this is happening on an apparently small spreadsheet it could be that an accidental entry has been made at the Far Right or lowermost Cell or both so this is worth checking
