Experienced users required on sister site Vistax64!

I am a Vista fan and keep dropping in. But I hate those threads that come from the outside because they are so messy - plus often those people are not polite. And many questions seem to be about Windows mail which I never used. I used AOL since day1 and did never did regret it - I have yet to encounter the first problem.

I made mine using Gimp a long time ago. It's not that hard to find tutorials online.

I think I accidentally double posted on VF just now.

I joined the VF, and tried to post in Chillout. When the post didn't appear there, I posted the same again. This time I saw a warning that the post is first published when mods have approved it.

So please, ignore one of those two.

I have two apps that won't run on x64. I have no x86 Seven's, I mean I have the DVD's so I could install one but all my licences are used. However, I have some valid Vista licences so I'm using Vista virtual machine to be able to use these x86 apps, without need to buy one more Seven just because of these apps.

For me, no free Seven licences was and is a reason enough to use Vista.

I should have been more specific. There's no reason other than compatibility. If you don't mind me asking, which apps?

They are both 'self made' accounting and billing apps we use, coded by our own C# guru. For some odd reason he's not able to make them to work on x64 Windows, not even on a 64-bit machine running x86 Windows. Virtual PC's emulated hardware is 32-bit, as is my virtual Vista, and the apps run OK.

The situation is going to change though, we have an ongoing project to integrate our office apps better. The situation now is like in an old Finnish proverb: ' The shoemaker's family has the worst shoes', a small IT consulting company has the worst possible apps for own use.

Also for unknown reasons I seem to have problems to login (domain / VPN) using XP Mode. With Vista and Seven never a problem. Odd, though; when you read the forums it's normally the other way around! :huh:

Fred, you are detached from the real world. I could give you many examples of my immediate neighborhood of people that have no intention to change - and no reason to change to Win7.

The reason in supporting the Vistax64 site is because without that, Sevenforums wouldn't be what it is today.

I know most of you out there are ex-Vista lovers and have settled in nicely here at SF. But, Vistax64 has haemorrhaged heavily with the lack of experienced users. If you are experienced and can help vista users, please help out!

Perhaps I should have inquire in what area of Vista Forums is the help needed. I just picked out a couple of threads with no posts and before the OP can respond a dozen others have already posted behind me? There doesn't seem to be any lack of volunteers there? Did I just misunderstand?

As a new user you feel foul of the spam filter, all further posts will be ok.

BTW it's best to keep clear of anything other than the top Vista forums section, all the rest is imported/exported newsgroup content and full of trolls

Are the names the same there, responding to questions? It's probably just our influx. Or it could be the newsgroups.

It's definitely turned into a ghost of it's former self activity wise.
