Hi!
Ive attached a screenshot that explains what Im looking for pretty well.

What I want is to change the ">" symbol in the breadcrumb bar into a "\" character.

Anyone have an idea how to do that?

PS: Im using a theme I downloaded, and Id like to keep using it.. in case that matters ;)

May I ask why you need to do that - just curious.

I dont "need" to, I just thought it might be nice if the bar still looked like it had a full path in it, but when you click on it it turns out to be breadcrumbs.

btw. I have done some reasearch on this, because I suspected that it is possible: I found at least one windows 7 custom theme on deviantart that has modified images in place of the >'s. Now its just a matter of figuring out where and how these are stored, and then modifying my existing theme ;)

OK, understand. You must have migrated directly from XP. As a former Vista user, I never really noticed the difference.

Okay, I figured out how to do it .. results attached \o/

In case anyone cares how to do it:
I had to use Style Builder (v.1.5), open the .msstyles file, and change the glyph image saved under
Code:
Address, Breadcrumb & Search > Breadcrumb > Basic > Normal > Active Crumbs > SplitButtonDropDown
(That was the path in my case anyway.. it may be a different path for other themes, Im not sure.)
Also note that this only changes the image of the "active" crumbs - theres an "inactive" entry as well.. and also note that it may well be the one in "aero" or "max" or whatever else there is .. I really have no idea how exactly these things are structured, all I know is, in order to change the inactive one I had to go to a whole different path, I think it was:
Code:
Address, Breadcrumb & Search > Breadcrumb > [COLOR=Red][B]Aero[/B][/COLOR] > Normal > Inactive Crumbs > SplitButtonDropDown
... but I cant be sure now, so dont take my word for it.

Luckily, stylebuilder lets you experiment and "test" as much as you want.

Ah one last thing: Be sure to use a proper graphics editing tool.. I was using an older version of Paint Shop Pro (old habits..), and it seems it cant handle the image format properly.
I ended up having to do the editing with GIMP, which worked nicely.

If you click to the side of the breadcrumb, it becomes the full path that can be copied and pasted and modified. Just sayin'.

Classic Shell has saved my computers life, and my own. My god, it feels so good to be free once again. What is wrong with Microsoft persisting to change things that do not need changing, and making things easier when they don't need to be?! I wish I could have the Windows 7 power on an XP install.
