Explorer error on 7068.

This is exactly the same error I got with 7048.

Clean install 7068 from Daemon Tools.

From Win + E:



From Explorer on Taskbar:



From the .exe:





Works fine from the Start Orb :





The only software installed is Avast, Vista Firewall Control,
Faststone Capture 53, Poweriso , FF 3.08 and Windows Live Mail.

Any ideas anyone?

for me win+E opens up "My Computer"
so wait this is a clean install from deamon tools?
the only thing i can think of is file corruption or a changed association for the exe file ...:sarc:

I've used both those builds you're using and the apps you mentioned without problem except:

Vista Firewall Control, Faststone Capture 53, Poweriso.

Never installed one of those.

I would focus to one of those apps (Vista Firewall Control and Poweriso being the most suspicious), try uninstalling them and see if helps.

Daemon tools + every build of 7 = FUBAR. No error for me. However, I've also stopped using DT because of said FUBAR issues. This doesn't necessarily mean a correlation for the Win+e error. Like TripOG, I've been using PowerISO with no trouble. I checked the DT forums after 7068 was leaked and didn't find anyone giving the all-clear sign yet.

On the other hand, I've had some other explorer crashes after installing 7068 on my laptop (clean install, no upgrade). Can't pin down the reason yet, but it's crashed 3 times today - each time is right after loading a program. Explorer restarts with no subsequent problems. Firefox has also crashed 2-3 times with 7068.

Haven't loaded this new build on my desktop yet. And like I said, laptop runs fine after all these crashes. But I've used every 7 build so far and none were as crash-happy as this one.

Clean install from Damon Tools?
I tried to install Daemon Tools in build 7000 but haven't succeed and didn't even check it later.So you are saying that now Daemon Tools are compatible with Seven?

Hi jfar - nothing happens with win+arrow keys.

Hi drazenn - DT is installed on my Vista partition. I ran the 7068 install from there. Come to think of it, I also installed 7048 ( which had the same explorer errors ) in exactly the same way.

PowerIso installs and works fine on 7.

I'm sure plenty of others did that too.

Strange error indeed. Just tried it; Win + E opens explorer fine & Win + [Arrows] alters how the currently opened app appears on screen. Will look further into it....

Hi,so I take it that none of the keyboard shortcuts work for you, Have you got the latest Intel chipset drivers for your PC installed,because after every new install of an OP you have to install them all again,now I am not saying this will fix your problem but at least it's another thing out of the scenario,if you want I can recommend a good program that I use all the time that I think is great for solving a lot of problems that people seem to have .
