Explorer.exe locks up?

My Windows Explorer.exe (not Internet Explorer) locks up anytime I close the lid on my laptop, and then it has to restart explorer which takes about 20 seconds.

it's very annoying, any solution to this problem?

Could you be a little more specific? What do you mean by "locks up"?(sorry but I really don't understand).
Open Reliability Monitor (Start -> Search for Reliability and hit ENTER). There you will see all Explorer.exe errors(if any) Double Click on them an post here the details for the last one at least.
Also, consider creating the following registry key hierarchy in the registry:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\LocalDumps\explorer.exe\
In the explorer.exe key, create a REG_EXPAND_SZ value named DumpFolder and set the data for the value to%systemdrive%\localdumps. Ensure the %systemdrive%\localdumps folder exists, and then cause the crash to happen. There should be a dump file in %systemdrive%\localdumps. Upload the dump file here.

(%systemdrive% is an environment variable representing the system drive, usually C:.)
