Hi, I've searched all over to find this exact problem, and I haven't found it, so my apologies if it's already been solved.
Frequently (about half the time) when I open an Explorer window, if I start clicking on files/folders/drives right away, the window will freeze up. This applies to all Explorer windows, even those opened by other programs when trying to save or open a file. It just did it a few minutes ago while trying to save a file in Photoshop, but it has done it while saving files in just about all my programs - Google Chrome, Word, Excel, even Wordpad. And when it happens, I have to restart the entire program and lose all data since my last save/autosave.
However, if I wait a few seconds before I click anything, the windows usually (but not always) respond correctly with no freeze, no application restart.
Any ideas?
