Hey guys I am having a small problem with my explorer jumplisits. I haven't really used them before but just decided to start using them and I love them. The only problem is when the last explorer window closes all of the pinned folders are gone. I found a thread on here and it had a link to a microsoft update download but the genunine windows tool won't work, it says its outdated but I can't find a new version. So my question is does anybody have any other advice an how I can fix this problem. After I reboot I wont see any recent flies either. I really like this function but it is disappointing that I can't use it.

Here's the thread I am referring to. http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/198880-files-wont-stay-pinned-taskbar-any-advice.html

I tried that once and it didn't work but i'll try it again.

EDIT: Something that you may want to know is that I have 7stacks installed. Could that be causing problems?

I wouldn't think 7stacks would affect Jump Lists, but you might uninstall it temporarily as a test.

System Cleaner?

Are you running a system cleaner?

If so, it may be set to purge your "Jump Lists".

One of the cleaners I used to run (ASC?), used to purge my "Jump Lists", even though the option wasn't selected!

I use ccleaner. But not everyday. And I use eraser and MyDefrag. But even if those aren't running after a restart the jumplists have still gone poof.

It's still happening and 7stacks is uninstalled. I have no idea what is happening, it just seems weird. And it will happen at random times. Maybe because I put it into sleep mode?

As a test, create a new user account, log on to it, and test to see if it does the same in this account to see if it's a system wide issue or just in your original account.

Created a new account, logged onto it and pinned documents. Restarted and logged on, docs was pinned, logged of and back on, still pinned. So it must be a problem with my account. I will have to put it to sleep/shut it down and triple check to be sure but I think it is an issue with my account.

I may as well wipe the drive and reinstall seeing as I have so much stuff installed on my account. That account is also not an admin if that makes any difference.
