Explorer keeps refreshing every 3 to 5 minutes.

Hi,

I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. My desktop and explorer keeps refreshing every 3 to 5 minutes. I have cleaned the registry and restarted several times. After restart it stays fine for a while and explorer starts refreshing.
Computers has 8GB of RAM and video card has 512MB of VRAM, not shared.
Does anybody know what else I can do? I don't want to format and reinstall.

Install the latest drivers, including chipset. Then, investigate your context menu entries with ShellExView. Also, scan with Malwarebytes Anti Malware, after updating.

Malwarebytes scans OK!
I have the latest drivers for everything, including chipset.

I know you mean well, but that utility doesn't tell you about conflicting contextual menus, you know. It just lists them.
If there is no other solution I will format and reinstall everything from scratch.

Something in the list may be causing the issue. Disable them one by one - if you have AVG or Eset installed, uninstall them to make sure its not the antivirus.

I have Norton 360 v4 on 3 computers.

Same Problem - advice from HP

In a HP chat session I was told to try another monitor and if it does the same thing then the graphics board/chipset is bad.

I'm not sure if this would work but have you tried running Explorer in 32-bit? If you are then try running it in 64-bit:confused:
