Explorer refresh x64 build 7229

I realsie this is a build that not many of us are still using, but I found the foolowing issue.

When in explorer, if I right click on a file and then delete it, it remains in explorer until I manually refresh. Is this normal? very annoying.

Hi Mark,

This can sometimes be caused by a particular theme you may be using. It's been reported that custome themes can lose the ability to Auto-Refresh the recycle bin, i'll try and find more details. Try changing themes & do the same process & see what happens.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried changing themes (back to the default beta fish) and still had the same issue. I then rebooted to see if rebooting would cause everything to reset.

I started the computer and it worked. 2 hours later - back to the same behavior.

It seems that if 5G or more ram is in use (out of 6G), I get the problem. If there is less in use, it works.

The bigger problem is that W7 does not seem to like to give back RAM when apps are closed or are not active (SQL server).

I am having a similar problem on Win 7 RTM x64.
When I rename a desktop icon, it dissappears when I hit enter.
I then have to manually refresh the desktop to get it back.
I created a new user profile for myself yesterday and the problem was gone.
Today, however, the problem is back.

If anyone has any ideas how to fix this problem please let me know.

I still get the problem on RTM. For me it is definetely RAM related. See my prior post.

I only have 4Gb of RAM and rarely use more than half of it.
I am now running the RAM optimiser in Advanced System Care V3.4.0 to see if it makes any difference.
So far, auto-refresh is still not working.

I noticed this happening but I THINK it's only happening to 'shared' directories - maybe homegroup shares ? Perhaps that might explain why it works sometime and others not. My non-shared directories refresh immediately, my shared(homegroup) directories don't auto-refresh.
Could that be IT ?

Yachats, you are correct - its only icons that are also on the shared desktop that are affected.
I discovered this a few weeks ago.
