Extended Display

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

When I right click and go to screen resolution it says that my Sharp LCD TV is number 1 and my Viewsonic monitor is number 2.

Beside multiple displays it says "Extend these displays" which is what I want.

My Viewsonic monitor is set as my main display even though it is labeled number 2.

My question is how do I make it so when I click icons to load up games they display on my Sharp TV and not my Viewsonic monitor.

Try "windows key" + P then select "Projector Only" before you launch the game. Then switch back to "Extend" when you are done.

That sort of works except that I have to select "Computer Only" because for some reason my TV is labelled as 1 and my Monitor is labelled as 2. If I select "Projector Only" then my Monitor works but my TV is blank.

Not really a big deal but is there a way to change this so my Monitor is labelled as 1 and my TV is labelled as 2?

I don't think you can change the numbers but you can change which one is the main display. Click on monitor number two in the screen resolution window and check the box at the bottom for "make this my main display". If they are physically back wards to what is shown in the window you can drag one monitor over to the other side. Instead of [1] [2], you can have [2] [1].

I think that is for Windows XP, I am using Windows 7. That link says to...

"Right-click on any blank spot of the Window's desktop. A context menu will appear. Choose the Properties command. "

There is no properties. I tried adjusting those instructions to be relevant to Windows 7 but I couldn't get the numbers on the displays to change.

Yeah, I don't think you can change the numbers either. I have my monitor as the main display. I guess I will just use "windows key + p" and choose "computer only" when I want to run stuff on my TV.

As my buddy used to say "Same thing but different". I'm spoiled or lazy depending on how you look at it. I'm running Ultramon, so it's a simple double click of an icon to go from dual monitors to single or back again when I want to play a game.
