Hi there,

I found a small 16 inch LCD tv laying around, which I want to use as an extended display.
My graphics card (GTX 285 Black Edition) as 2 DVI-I outputs, one already in use for my 24" Dell screen, so I bought a DVI to HDMI cable.
Now, my screen extends with it, but not on the way it should.
2/3 of the screen in height is displaying great, but the bottom section does not.
the left side (about 2/3 of the width of the screen) displays the right side, with a kind of green triangle over it, and the right side displays the left.
I included a picture, so you can see what I mean.

If you found the monitor "laying around", is it entirely possible that it had been thrown out for that exact reason?

No matter what your specs, my PC is better.
First thing to try, hook up the TV to your stand alone dvd player or game console, see if the problem still presents.
This looks more like a TV problem than a GPU problem.

Nope, I can perfectly watch television with this via cable, I tried it. If I put it on another source the problem disappears.

Edit:
Also, viewing DVD via scart works perfectly.

What is the make and model of the TV?
What resolution and refresh rate are you running at?
Is the Res and Ref rate defaulting to the lower of your two displays(being the TV)?
What Driver are you running?

It's a VD-tech TQS-E1910, which I can't find any info on.
But my PC recognises it as a Targa LCDTV16.
The resolution is 1360*768 and the refresh rate is 60Hz, both native.
I'm not sure what you mean by what driver I'm running, do you mean my GPU driver? In that case, the latest.

I don't have another HDMI source, so I can't really test that. I'll try to get one from someone else though.
Thanks for your support so far.

Yeah, it is possible for one input to be bad and the others work perfectly fine. I would give it a shot, maybe take it to a friends house who has an HDMI source, or if you have a lappy with HDMI out?
