Extending range via multiple APs - use Same or Different SSID?

Hi

I'm extending my network's range by using two APs. They are different models but using identical settings.
(This is done so they cover the whole house)

Should I use the same network name (SSID) for both or a different one for each?

Interesting because I was thinking of doing this myself as our coverage is pretty average.

What I don't understand is what you mean by different settings for each one and I am also wondering why you bought different brands too?
