Extending Volume to reclaim accidental shrinkage

I shrank my 2TB C drive to make a small partition for a Photoshop scratch disk. But I stupidly got my sums wrong and have shrunk it to 1TB. When I use the Extend Volume Wizard it say:
Total volume 1907626
Maximum available 932714
Select the amount of space 932714

I would have expected it to let me increase the amount of space, but I can only reduce the number. The other fields can not be edited.

Can someone help me get back my missing TB please?

Right click on the unallocated space and create a Primary partition.

Try Partition or Volume - Extend just clicking Next at each screen. It should put it back the way it was. I've never seen it not do that.

Geeks, are we trying to make a simple thing a bit too complicated?

OP's Disk Management tells when trying to expand there's max. 932,714 MB available, which is exactly 910.85 GB (932,714 / 1,024) as his screenshot shows the unallocated space being.

This is as it should be; select the max. available amount and that's it, your C: partition will be expanded using that 910.85 GB. Of course you cannot select any greater amount there as it tells how much is available for expand.

How is Partition or Volume - Extend complicated? It is the only thing to be done here.. Ignore the figures provided, just keep clicking Next. YOu want all of your space back and this will always do that when it has just been shrunk as was the case here..

Greg, I mean that basically the OP has no issue; Disk Management is offering the full available space to him.

He asks why he can't select a greater amount, the answer is because there's no more space available. He can only expand with 932,714MB or less.

Later on you will want another partition on that drive, that's why I suggest you just make it a primary now. But Kari is absolutely correct on his explanation.
