External Hard Drive Problem
I have an external hard drive and I plug it in and the computer recognizes it and it appears in My Computer as drive J, but when I try to save something to it I get the following error:
J:/ Passwords 3.png
You do not have permission to save in this location
Contact the administrator to obtain permission
Would you like to save in the My Pictures folder instead?
I'm logged in as administrator and have never gotten this error message before help!
Edit: If I drag the file from the My Pictures folder to the J: drive it ask me to give administrator permission to copy it and I do and it copies it just fine.

Well,
First you should be saving to the root of the J: drive.
haven't you setup folder to place your files in.
It could also be due to permission problems. if the first suggestion doesn't work, simply post back.

You could try this solution :
Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management
Right click on the drive in diskmanagement, or computer folder - properties - security - advanced - owner - edit - then change owner to yourself.
