Hi,
I´ve installed Windows 7 RC yesterday and need to copy some backup files from my external HD.First time i connected it on usb, windows reconized it well and i had acces to it.But, not much time later, it just disapeared from "My Computer"....Windows shows the icon of the device, and on device mannager it is there and shows all OK.

Very strage.I´ve tried to uninstall and install again the driver but no results.

more details:

external HD: Seagate Free Agent Desktop 120Gb.
windows status: It knows and reconize the HD, but don´t show on "Devices with Removable Storage" on My Computer screen.
Note: Other UBS devices, such as kingston pendriver are working fine.

Thanks,
Alan.

Try booting into safe mode. If you see the drive listed, unmount it before restarting and you should be ok..

Thanks for the fast awernser,

Just tried doing what you said but no results =/

EDIT: Solved the problem. There was a "Device Volume" in my Device Manager, there was my HD, classified as generic.I uninstalled that driver and pluged again the HD.Windows Auto-executed it, and now it´s working Fine.

Thanks.
