Well.. Basically my external Seagate 9ZA2AG-501 decided to changed drive letters today (from F to H)

So... I loaded Partition star and it did not recognize the drive at all. Easus on the other hand did.

I set it to change the drive letter back to F and when it reboots it says it was successful but then hangs there.

any ideas?

Hi,

What hangs where?

You're an adult... you should know these things....

I am, however, wondering why the OP cares what drive letter his external drive is on...

Also ASRock ION 330 as HTPC (on XP).
Acer Aspire as GP netbook (on XP).
-- some software apps reference a data folder store the path name (including drive letter) in the Registry; if the letter changes the app complains,
---- or, perhaps he's got another disk named H:

PS What does the drive look like in KUbuntu? Perhaps the letters are fixable there?

Eh...

Apparently I am a bit impatient: I let it sit there while I left the room to do something and when I came back about 30 minutes later it had booted up.

Thanks for the help though! :D
