I've been having some issues with 7 lately. My external HDD, that I hardly ever use (only for backup) is not working. It has (had?) over 100gb of important shit on it, and its just.. not working. Every time I plug it in, it spins up.. and windows says "You need to format the disk in F: before you can use it." It didn't say this before.. ever.. Is this Windows 7 being stupid, or did my external drive fail? It seems to spin up just fine.. no click of death or anything.
Edit: I tried seatools.. it passed the S.M.A.R.T. test, and it passed the DST Short Test.
