External HDD failure

Hdd Fails to run when i copy files....

it stops functioning..and gets disconnected....and connect again..

please help me to resolve this issue..

Replace the USB cable.

It depends on the drive - some cables aren't interchangeable due to plug type that insets into the drive.

If you have a micro USB cable connection, they are easy enough to replace. But if you have something else ie Samsung Story - they use a propiterary plug that's pretty damn hard to replace.

what HDD enclosure is it it may require drivers to work right and not be purely plug and play my WB mybook is like that. by plug and play they mean it goes to windows update to install its needed driver if the os for some reason can't install the embedded one lol.

Always furnish full particulars of the HDD internal/external, make/model Number, capacity etc.,

System and OS ( It may be a different system even if you had given some System Specs)

Help us help you better.
