My mic doesn't work after I wake my computer from sleep mode. To get it to work, I have to unplug my mic, shut down all my applications that use a mic, plug my mic in, then restart the applications. It works, but it's a bit of a nuisance to do that every day.

Is there a way to fix this issue?

Generally (in many cases) that is related to a driver. Update the sound driver and see if that helps. If you have integrated (on the motherboard) sound, use the driver from the motherboard vendor (I assume you have installed a non-Gateway motherboard from your specs). Sound drivers can be tricky and many times non-vendor sound drivers either do not work or do not work correctly.

I actually discovered that it's only my front mic input. I find the back port works as I want it to. Also, I found no driver updates available for my sound devices.

I have three systems listed in the specs area. My main desktop and my secondary desktop that was my previous build. The last one (in all the sections) is my Lenovo laptop.

Thanks for your interest in my machines! :)
