I have the following problem with Win7 Ultimate build 7127, (upgraded from 7100 within this build i havn't test this problem) it is not possible to connect to the USB drive connected to a WRT610N router, i can not map a directory only network discovery display's the external diskdrive. When i try to connect i get the Error code: more data available or Error code: 0X80070035 The network path was not found . with 1 laptop with XP and 2 Vista laptop's everything works fine !!!??
I think i have found the problem, right click on computer, advanced system settings, choose Tab Computer Name, then Network ID, what i see is that the option This computer is a part of a business network is enabled. So i choose the option This is a home computer not connected to a business network. Then Next and Finish. Restart the system. Again i go in Network ID and see that nothing is changed...I'm still a part of a business network......??? I think this is the problem !!!

Regards,

When you open up the network and sharing center, what type of network is listed in the "View your active networks" section?

Hi Kegobeer,

I see Home as network, but i have fixed the problem myself. I have rollback from build 7127 to build 7100 (new installation, no upgrade) After that i checked my problem, and everything i now working without any problems.

Hi koelis, welcome to the forums.

Glad you solved it mate :D

I would add that 7127 was a poor RC as far as stability/networking goes. Reverting back to the RC 7100 means that you can still get help & feedback from Microsoft's forum sites as i'm sure your not the only one who has suffered the same issue.

I'm 100% confident that the RTM, when released, will not have this issue as it's the most stable build yet IMHO :D

Do you mean when the retail version is available on October 22? RTM has been available since early August to Technet/MSDN subscribers, and it is indeed solid.

Hi Guys,

BAD news,

Short story:
- Clean install of WIN7 everything works OK
- After Windows7 update, until last fixes (8) also OK
- Install again my used programs on secondary partition D:, I'am now halfway the list of programs to reinstall, now the problem is still there, only discovery works, drive mapping also not work BUT only on Win7, 2 WINXP and 3 VISTA everything OK they can connect to external USB drive on the WRT610N router.

Investigation sofar:

-Stop firewall, dont fix it.
-Stop AVG virus scanner, dont fix it.
-Rollback all service packs doesn't help.
- I have checked als sharing settings, they are not changed.

The problem is the application Threatfire, this program is very good as extra protection, but in Win7 it gives to much protection, mapping doesn't work, after dinstall the program, everything works fine !!!!!!

Question is, why have XP and Vista not this problem with Threatfire ????

Regards,

Why do you install applications to anything other than the C drive? Why don't you install the applications in the default location, and see if you continue to have issues.

I agree with having a second partition for data, but installing applications in the other partition doesn't help if a reinstall is required. You still have to install the applications again, because all of the registry entries are missing.
