Since reinstalling Outlook 2010 after crash I seem to have some folders I don't know the purpose for. Sometimes a sent email will go into the Outlook Data File folder and sometimes into the robert808 folder where it should go. The Favorites folder has the same sent emails as the Outlook Data File. Seems to be no rhyme or reason to this. Anyone know why? And could I delete the Favorites, the Outlook Data File folder and the Outlook Folder without losing Outlook functionality?

A little worried about CPU temp that gets up to 180 F when watching TV via Media Center. 140-150 F normally.
The Outlook Data File folder is where Outlook stores the .pst backup info. Everything I see says that is the default PST File created with outlook. You cannot remove it unless you have a different mail delivery location. You can remove this from the navigation pane, but I don't think you want to remove it all together.

Remove Outlook 2010 Data File from Navigation Pane

Click on Start

Control Panel

Mail

Data Files

Highlight the email you want to be Default and click “Set As Default” from the menu.

Highlight the Outlook Data File and click “Remove” from the menu

The Outlook Data file will not be removed until you close Control Panel, open Outlook and select “Outlet Data File” in the Navigation pane, right click and click on “Close Outlook Data File”. Then it will go away.......

Thanks for trying to help.. But again, why do some sent emails go to the Sent folder in the [email protected] folder and others go to the Sent folder in the Outlook Data File folder? The ones that are in the Outlook Data File folder are the same ones that are in the Sent folder in the Favorites folder. And there are only a few compared to the Sent folder in the robert808@hawaiiantel folder Neither date nor content of the sent emails appears to have any bearing on this. And if the Data folder is backup why doesn't it have all the sent emails plus the content of all the other folders in the robert808 folder? Maybe someone has to actually be on my computer to see everything and figure it out. Thanks again.

I don't use Outlook myself, but I saw plenty of people with multiple folders. Either using multiple accounts, or after restoring a PST file. Hopefully someone with personal experience will reply. A Guy
