For the last two days facebook won't load properly on either of my home laptops. Have tried via IE, Chrome and Chrome incognito. I cleared cookies, browsing and download history and cached images and files but although I then got the proper looking facebook login page, once I logged in all I got was text down the left hand side of the page.

I'm on very slow internet but I always have been and haven't had this problem before.

Any help much appreciated.

Some of Facebook's servers have had problems recently. Let us know if the problem persists.

Still having the same problem on day 3. I tried my desktop computer and found that facebook loaded without a problem on that. The desktop is cable connected to the internet, the laptops are wifi connected. I then tried with my tablet, via the same wifi connection, and was able to see photos and posts fine on that.

Any ideas? I can't recall doing anything out of the ordinary that might have changed any settings in the laptops.

I got the same "text down the left hand side of the page" for Facebook a few hours ago. A few minutes later, it was fine.

Do any other websites give you trouble or just Facebook?

No, all the other websites are fine, it's just Facebook.

What antivirus app or other security related apps do you have on these laptops? Do you have the same security apps on the desktop?

Microsoft Security Essentials on both laptops. No antivirus on the desktop, cos I had separate (yet to be resolved) issues with it.

It's still text only on the morning of Day 4.

MSE should not be a problem.
Facebook works fine via Wi-Fi on a tablet...
Facebook works fine via wired on a desktop...
...but not via Wi-Fi on two laptops.

Just for fun, clear "cookies, browsing and download history and cached images and files" on the desktop and see how Facebook looks after logging in.

Grasping at straws here:
Can you test one of the laptops using a LAN cable (wired connection).

If it still fails, go back to Wi-Fi and try this:
On one of the laptops...
...temporarily change the DNS to 8.8.8.8
...restart that laptop
...test Facebook.

If Facebook is still bad...
...set DNS back to automatic
...and try these steps:

Hmm, just tried IE on laptop and actually got Facebook up all normal. Tried again through Chrome but that's still all text. I think my head is spinning.

And now it's working again on Chrome too. So it was just a glitch that lasted longer than usual do you think? Thanks so much for your support UsernameIssues. I'll mark this as solved, but I have a sneaking feeling ... :)
