Hello all,

Sorry I have to ask something so basic but can't query an answer:

During logoff, I want the system to be effectively wiped back to the factory settings, eg. any changes made on the computer at the time of logon are ignored.

The easiest way is to use the free version of sandboxie
Sandboxie - Sandbox software for application isolation and secure Web browsing
It is a great tool against virus.

Thanks. Not so much for virus reasons though. Application isolation is interesting though, comoddo offeres this service as well via a toggle switch. Due to my data levels, I'll probably be better off with that two-in-one solution to prevent any potential spreading onto the network.

My goal here was to just have it so any changes made to the actual system while a user is logged on is not logged. When you log off or restart the computer is back to how it was installed or prepared. The reason being is performance, all those files written to app data, registry, changes in files, loading thumbnails, just everything is making so many changes and after awhile becomes a web of what is all this.

Thanks for the reply.

Many governments have this implemented, and business. However can't remember how to isolate the local user accounts session, saved files are easily redirected though changes I don't know. I've contemplated a system restore creation/execution previously just like suggested though it seems like and is an overly bulky solution. Has/should be a way where apple is splet like that intially so when UserX comes over and changes it to aplpeo when his session is complete it will go back to the original state automatically.

Windows does not provide this functionality natively. You need third party software such as sandboxie. System Restore will not effect user files or user registry entries.

Yeppers, thanks. Gave me the clue in for the proper queue terms. Using KiXtart, so needs to be a sandbox emulator that can capture the whole session. Will figure this out easy thanks to you guys. Coudn't conceive of the keywords needed to find similar programs.
