Hi i have a Packard Bell Ixtreme M5722 thats running windows 7 64 bit home premium I was advised by packard bell to do a factory restore which failed half way through with error code 1392 file system currupt. Ever since then i've been unable to start up windows. I have used a Windows 7 recovery cd that lets me into command prompt but when i run sfc /scannow it just says "there is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete" Obviously I can't reboot as it won't let me into windows at all. The recovery Essentials tools (windows 7 64-Bit Edition) doesn't work no restore point identified on computer and i don't have a recovery disk to use (I know i should have a backup disk but recently moved and lost my cd i created in move).

Any advice would be very much appreciated I have backed up all files onto my external hard drive before I tried the factory restore.

I have contacted Packard Bell who want £51 to send me a recovery disk so would like to exhaust some options before I hand over the cash

Get a Windows SP1 .iso file from here, burn that to a DVD and install with that. Then activate the system with the Product key that is on the COA sticker of your system.
