Fallout 1/ Fallout 2

I have a Windows 7 32bit OS. I can't seem to get Fallout 1 or 2 to work without the graphics being messed up. I've tried running it in compatibility mode with every previous OS to no avail. Is there another setting in compatibility I should be enabling? Is there a free program that lets me run things old games? Thanks for any help you guys can provide.
