Far Cry 1... Revisited

I found a post for FC but it was from 2010 so I figured I better make a new one so as not to catch the wrath of the Gods.

Just a little explanation for those who may want to reinstall the game on Win 7 64 bit as it gave me a little bit of problems initially.

I am having issues with my instashield wizard taking forever to start but I will make another thread for that. So, after two attempts at installing the game and getting some weird error, I found out that if I did not choose to install DirectX, the game would install correctly. This is mind blowing to say the least since history has told me that most game will not install right if you don't install DX when asked

So, I get all happy when I see the main menu, I go to settings, everthing is set to Max High (first time I can do that on any game ), I get to the game and all I see if a blue fog screen, not a BSOD but sky like screen... hmmmm :sarc:

Since I only play Solo Campaigns I almost never patch any of my games but again, I do the cumulative patch 1.4 and presto, game back in action... ok, lets shoot some baddies then.

I feel like doing a Rambo pass this time so I start the game with all ammo and all weapons... Come now, no need to get raged, I have played this game huge amounts of time the right way.

A few bugs that I don't recall if I had them when I first initially played the game back in 04, 05 (or whenever the game came out)...

1.- Even with the sniper rifle... baddies take a few hits to drop unless you are lucky enough to hit them on a scripted spot that I have yet to find

2.- I am guessing the game was not meant to be played with Aim down the Sights unless you are using the sniper rifle or the launcher because it takes about 3 seconds to zoom (if you will) with a regular weapon and there is no Toogle for it? I would love to find a way to toggle zoom by the way so if anybody knows how to edit a file to get this done, please let me know. I may want to Rambo my way through but I still like to do it aiming down the sights and not just hip shooting

So far this are the only bugs I have found since I have just started the game and barely gotten to the Japanese Ship they are using for refueling purposes.

It seems I am having less fun with All Ammo & Weapons than when I played it last w/o them... more so because I have to shoot from the hip (something I had completely forgotten to do) but mainly because the ai does not die even when I bombard them with nades and bombs to the chest or nearby. Sure, I am playing it in the hardest level but still, a nuke, bomb or nade should do the trick... I can't even imagine what's going to happen once I encounter the big baddies.
