I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop (Windows 7). AT the login screen, I have my login icon and another icon (fastaccess for facial recognition). I want to remove the fastaccess icon from the login screen.

I have disabled these services: Windows Biometric svc, Human Interface Device Access, FAService.

In msconfig: unchecked FATrayMon

I have Googled it and looked on Dells site. Anyone know how to make the icon go away?

If you do not want the program, I would start by uninstalling from programs and features in the control panel.

Thanks. It worked. I thought there might be a way to just remove the icon, but after all my searching, I was contemplating removing it. Thanks for the push. I feel much better.

I am very glad that we could help and your generous rep is appreciated.
Software added by a computer manufacturer to the original operating system is know as crapwear, enough said.
That general category, of course, is no reflection on any particular software.
