So do I. But you still don't need over 100Mbps to stream HD video on your local network, unless you are streaming several different videos to multiple computers over the same link.People use gigabit switches for fast data transfer between various computers,
As far as your switch, if it is still going through your router's integrated 100Mbps switch, that is your limiting factor.
