Last night I downloaded the upgrades and before I went to sleep I ran the upgrade. This morning I woke up and my upgrade progress had froze (couldn't move mouse even) and I had to go to class. I would leave it run but last time I left my computer on for a while it nearly overheated, so I had to power off. Stupid. But I did anyway.

Anyway, the OS tried to update some system files that apparently weren't there, so it gets to this certain point and encounters a fatal error. I have tried all the options on the windows recovery disk. I have also tried some command line commands but none have worked so far.

Any ways to get around this? I have some songs I composed on the HD I really can't afford to lose along with pictures.
