I was scanning this morning with great success. Abruptly, it quit scanning. I have no idea why.

I've rebooted the PC, uninstalled the printer and reinstalled it. It still will not scan.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks.......David

The scanner part of the printer might have went out on you....it does happen. Test it; load up printer on another PC and verify that it working properly.

You may have a very good point. I just tried scanning from my wife's laptop right beside me and it doesn't even recognize the printer/scanner but yet she can print.

My error simply says "No paper in document feeder" which doesn't make any sense. Am not trying to print plus there is plenty of paper in the feeder.

Am not sure what to do. Maybe I need a new printer/fax/scanner combo. I don't know.

Thanks..........David

Windows 7 FAX and Scan

Which printer are you using ? Typically now, they provide a USB cable and wireless. I would recommend connecting both manually, rather than using the set-up by the manufacturer. You want to set up wireless from PC to printer/scanner/copier. Not to your Home Router, which is what typically is the set-up option by the printer manufacturer. Next, you will want to set up the USB Connecting cable provided to your printer by going to the Control Panel in Windows 7 and add printer. I had the exact same experiences as you and your wife. I even deleted the printer, as you did. At that point, I set up wireless with PIN to my PC by pressing PIN on the printer set-up and entering the PIN. Then, I set up Control Panel on my PC Windows 7 for USB Connection. At that point, only, did I then reload the DVD to the reader and clicked set-up. It re-installed then what it needed and everything finally worked.

But, I have a question about Windows FAX and Scan ? Please.

I would like to have the call answered by a main menu greeting with Options, Press 1 for this and 2 for that. And, I would like Windows FAX and Scan to recognize CNG of an in-coming FAX and route the call then to the Windows FAX and Scan Software.

Windows FAX and Scan works great. I just want to front-end it with answering machine functionality with a greeting and determine itself if it is a FAX or a Voice Call, which then should go to the Main Greeting - not missed FAX call - could not answer.
