Has anyone tried playing Fear Combat in windows 7 yet? This is the first game I haven't been able to run. It installs fine but when I try and ruin it just tells me "F.E.A.R. has stopped working" then "The application failed to initialize properly (0x0000005). Click OK to terminate the application."

I tried to run the game in computability mode but I am never able to get programs to run in compatibility mode anyways. I even ran it as administrator!

Any ideas?

Fear Combat works fine with mine, all of my installations (I've made about 5-6 re-installs over the beta's) run it just fine, without compatibility changes.

Both F.E.A.R. Combat installation and the 1.07 to 1.08 update installed without a problem.
The game runs better than on any other version.

Have you tried the "this application has stopped working" fix ? are you experiencing it to other installations too? can you do Windows Update or you get the same error?

Try this fix at first:

start regedit
navigate to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions
rename MachineThrottling to _MachineThrottling

Otherwise, you might have a corrupted installation.

Gets rid of a bug and lets you install programs that might crash and run Windows Update without similar errors.

It's safe to do, shouldn't be there on the first place.

I went to where you directed me, but when I get into the Disabled Sessions folder, I do not see MachineThrottling, and I even made sure all hidden folders and protected operating system files were visible.

Then this is not your problem...

My guess would be a corrupt installation, and/or graphics card drivers needed update. Try the Windows Update drivers instead of downloading manually drivers from your vga card manufacturer's page.

Do you have more than one screen? I had to disable my extra screens till the game loaded, then alt tabbed and added my screens again... strange but it just wouldnt run with more than one screen connected
