FEAR Doesnt work on Win 7?

I got the good old horror game FEAR and everytime i play it lags pretty bad like rank even on low and stuff it just has crappy FPS. Idk if some1 knows a reason why it does this? or is it because FEAR is just to old and Win 7 is just too new!?

FEAR runs just fine on Win7 x64, at least the STEAM version does.
And I even forced higher settings on mine. (x16 AA x16 AF for example + Vsync)

So, I honestly do not think its the game being to old to run on Win7.
I would Imagine your GTX 460 should be able to do the same, and still run the game smoothly.


If not, there may be another issue.



Is this a retail version of the game or where did you get it?
Have you updated your DirectX?
Is the game patched to the latest version, if not from STEAM?

its a torrent XD but like maybe its a patch but My Directx Is upto date i know for sure but ill try the game again

That likely your issue.
There is no way to know to know what was done to, or even added to the pirated version of the game. It is quite likely this is the reason you are having issues.

Unfortunately, you will not get much help here getting it working properly, as we do not help with pirated software.




I can tell you however, that the game itself does run just fine under Win7 x64 though.

alrite thanks bud yea maybe its the torrent but ill see what else i can find out but thanks and its no problem game scares the crap outta me anyway! LOl
