FEAR no sound

Hi everyone,

I'm using on board realtek sound card and can play music and other games using this card but for some reason it won't allow sound to come through for FEAR combat. Anyone else had this problem and knows a fix?

Is it the game bought? try applying the newest patch

This happened to me with Fear 2,removal of the old 56k modem still in the computer solved the problem for me.

Could be worth a try if you have an old dial up modem lurking in your pc somewhere.

Hi,

As far as i know there is no dial up modem connect to the pc or part of the motherboard. I have partitioned my hard drive and put windows vista on and FEAR works fine. Not sure what the issue is but it is the same files and every thing. I just figure that windows 7N is the bare operating system designed for quick install for office use. I'm pretty sure I got it working with windows 7RTM, but eh vista isn't as bad a people make out.
