Any photographers here
- enjoy this amazing shot someone managed to catch of a lightning bolt striking the Eifel Tower in Paris - some people have all the luck as you certainly can't plan for this type of shot.

Actually, you can plan for this type of shot but it takes an incredibly huge amount of patience. Something like the Eifel Tower is a lightning rod that is pretty much guaranteed to get struck by lightning during any lightning storm. All photographer has to do is set up the camera on a tripod at the start of a storm, then keep taking one long exposure shot after the other until the storm is over. Using two cameras starting new exposures at staggered times would eliminate the chance of missing a strike in the split second between the end of one shot and the beginning of another. If a good shot isn't achieved during that storm, wait for the next. Like I said, an incredibly huge amount of patience.
