Not sure if it's file explorer or whatever else but the player does read a couple of CDs and a Microsoft Works 9 CD/DVD (i dunno) that i put in there. I've read another thread where the solution was to change the letter path for that drive but that didn't work for me. I also uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them along with running the trouble shooter. The troubleshooter did suggest that i set WU to automatic but i'm not playing that game. Out of experience has anyone any idea as to what could fix this?

You might have failed to give the pc time to read the dvd, or else its a faulty one, try another one or a cd.

I gave it a few minutes to read it, i'll try giving it a couple of more minutes. Would i be able to download a Windows ME ISO into a CD though? I download it from the archives but i think a CD might not have enough space for it.

A CD wont hold it.
Open File Explorer and watch the DVD drive while a dvd is being read.

How old is that MS Works CD? That was a Win 95 to XP program. And did you mean the OS Windows ME?

Probably Win7 can't read such an old program. Instead download LibreOffice, which is a free, open-source version of MS Office.

Don't put Windows ME on your computer. It's outdated by many years and will offer no security. And even when it was new, it was flaky.

The MS Works 9 is read just fine. As far as Windows ME is just as hobby of mine to install OEM software in laptops that i restore.
