I keep my data files under the directory C:\MyData\...

I would like when opening explorer for it to open to same (expanded) within the left pane.

With explorer open to that location, I go to Tools, Folder Options, General and check off automatically expand to current location--which explorer then does not do on subsequent opens?

I have always done this by editing the shortcuts to Windows Explorer. I have mine set to open the D drive as such:

%windir%\explorer.exe /e, "D:\"
