Hi,
I have a configured file server with Windows file sharing set up.
Recently I have replaced the array with a whole new set of drives and copied the files over.
I have already configured permissions to allow write access to the share, but I have a slight problem which I can't seem to work out.
When a user adds a file, even though the Guest account is granted ownership of the file (as it would, since the Guest account is the standard account Windows file sharing uses), they are not able to rename, modify or delete their content.
In my previous setup users were able to copy files in to the share, rename or manipulate files in the share, and were not able to modify, change attributes or delete any of the files that I (my admin login) had ownership to.
I can't recall if users were able to delete their own files individually per PC (so other users couldn't remove their data) as it wouldn't make sense due to the Guest account being local, but if that was possible then I probably had that set up too.
How do I configure my file/folder permissions to restore this?
Thanks for any response.
